Maya Zachut is a Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Ruminant Science, Institute of Animal Science, Volcani Institute, Israel. Dr. Zachut has a B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD in Animal and Veterinary Sciences at Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Quality Sciences of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her Postdoc training was at Weizmann Institute and Volcani Institute. Since 2014 she is a Researcher at the Department of Ruminant Sciences, Volcani Institute, Israel. Dr. Zachut’ research focuses on nutritional means to improve the physiological responses of dairy cows during metabolic and heat stresses; by modulating inflammation and the endocannabinoid system. Her research is pioneering in exploring modulation of the endocannabinoid system as a novel nutritional approach in dairy cows. She has published more than 60 peer reviewed papers in top journals in the field, and is an invited speaker to international conferences in Ruminant sciences.
